1: cocagne was the ball of crushed and compacted leaves by hand by the woad growers. It was then dried and sold to dye manufacturers at such a high price that the entire woad industry became extremely wealthy. This cultivation area was located in the Albi-Carcassonne-Toulouse triangle, which became the land of cocagne.
