déconstruction
common noun
Syllable Decomposition
déconstructionfrom construction, with the prefix de-, the use of deconstruction in the philosophical sense is borrowed from the German abbau, in truth much less used in that language (according to Jean-Pierre Faye, Heidegger would have used it only once) than the English deconstruction, very fashionable in the United States. In French-speaking lands, it is the work of Derrida that systematized its use and theorized its practice.
