Le séjour chez l'oncle maternel (intermittent au début, puis de plus en plus prolongé) faisait donc partie intégrante du destin ordinaire d'une femme mayoruna, censée mieux grandir (wirenek, ‘durcir') chez son MB. Le destin des garçons dupliquait d'ailleurs parfaitement celui des filles, puisqu'eux aussi étaient envoyés habiter chez leurs MB afin d'y gagner du ‘tonus' et apprendre à connaître leurs affins.
